Hours, Women's History Month, Group Study, Databases, Ebooks

Hours

As the Spring semester continues, you may have noticed continual changes in the Library's hours. This is due to our budget challenges, but as of right now, it looks like the Library will be open:

Mondays through Thursdays 8:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m., Fridays 8:00 a.m. - 12 noon

for the rest of the spring semester (Spring break week-- April 9-13 the exception).

Contemporary Reading Shelves: Women's History Month

March is Women's History Month and the Library features a reading list on its contemporary Reading Shelves. You can also browse the book covers featured in the middle right of the Library Home page.

Study Groups Can Now Reserve a Room Online!

Study groups can now sign up to a week in advance through our online sign-up. The one signing needs to include their W ID number and two of the group members' Zonemail addresses (if you do not know your Zonemail address, log into Class-Web and click on the "What is my Email address" link). And then needs to confirm by going into their Zonemail (recommended, even if you have Email forwarding in place). Sign up at: http://chabotcollege.libcal.com/booking/studyrooms

New Databases

The Library has a suite of new databases due to a state-wide purchase for community colleges. To get acquainted with both the new and familiar, go to our Databases page at: http://chabotcollege.libguides.com/articledatabases . Here is a list of our new EBSCOhost databases (which replaces our old Academic Search Elite):

Academic Search Premier
MasterFILE Premier
Newspaper Source Plus
Business Source Elite
Auto Repair Reference Center
America: History and Life with Full Text
Consumer Health Complete

and more!
Be sure to click on the new Key Subjects tab to search unique filters of Academic Search Premier or special databases!

Later this year, the Library will have at least a one year trial of additional databases from EBSCOhost.

E-Books

Did you know that the Library now has from both purchases and subscriptions over 28,000 E-books? You can find them when you do a search in the Library Catalog. Look for listings that have [Electronic Resource] after them. To browse a sample of individual titles, go to http://chabotcollege.libguides.com/ebooks
